Commercial Hybrid system suitable for buildings with high power demand during the day. It works without a grid-tie inverter or net meter
The solar charge maximizer (SCM) controller relies on the solar energy storage battery to maintain the optimum working voltage to maximize the solar charge efficiency and the charging current. The high current charging and DC load carrying capacity from Solar charge Maximizer controllers provides sufficient power supply capacity for certain load in a commercial building, such as air conditioning and roof top units cooling load or plug load during the day. The more daytime load, the less battery capacity is required. The SCM controllers save the utility bills by minimizing the load demand from the grid when the utility price is high during the daytime. When the solar condition is minimum in the cloudy days, the load could still be powered from the grid through an automatic transfer switch.
The solar panels in parallel connecting SCM controller shall have the same nominal voltage as SCM controller, battery & inverter;
The MPPT solar charge controller and SCM controller shall be of the same common negative (or positive) design;
"PVs" is the split wire from a solar array, connecting "SCM", both panels in series and panels in parallel;
There may be many of SCM controller systems distributed throughout the property. The SCM controller system shall be located near to the load and solar panel to save the wiring cost.
