The solar panel carport (SPC) is built to cover the driveway of residential homes. The solar panels are mounted on the metal trusses of the carport directly without the need for roof decking.

"SPC" located in the front of the house may need approval from the panel of a Committee of Adjustment, but the SPC, pergola walkway solar systems  located at the side and backyard of the residential house are generally permitted without a Committee of Adjustment approval.

The solar panels are connected to the Enerpak Solar Charge Maximizing Controller Systems (SCMCS) to charge the electric vehicles through a solar inverter and a level 2 EV charger.

The SPC, pergola or backyard solar system includes a DC load dumping controller that serve sas DC load control to allow the energy stored in the 48 VDC LFP battery and the energy from solar panels to be used to power other DC loads directly, after the electric vehicle is fully charged. 

The AC load dumping controller has a current sensor built-in, the controller disconnects AC power to the AC load dumping appliances, such as 240VAC domestic preheat water tank, whenever an electric vehicle is being charged.
